There are seven group homes (hogares) in Talita Kum (girls rise) that house our girls. The girls are placed into homes according to their age and maturity. Each home has a biblical or spiritual name like "Stars of Belen" or "Daughters of Maria".
During the week, the girls attend school or have classes in the vocational workshops. On weekends, they participate in planned activities including sports, baking, dancing, hiking, camping and arts and crafts.
Once graduating from secondary school, the equivalent of junior high, they can attend high school outside of the Ranch. They either live in one of five student homes in Tegucigalpa or we find them family style housing in another Honduran city. Every other weekend the students return to the Ranch to see their brothers and sisters and lend a hand where needed.
