Palm Sunday mass and Holy Thursday activities in our home

Palm Sunday Mass
Forty days have passed and now we are prepared to live and feel the real meaning of the life, passion, and the resurrection of Jesus in our hearts.
Blessing the boys palms
We were reunited at 2:00 o’clock in the multipurpose hall to start the celebration of the Palm Sunday mass. All the boys and girls had their palms for the blessing. Fr. Raymundo read the gospel, blessed the palms, and we started the walk to the chapel. It was really amazing to see all the children waving their palms the same way the people did with Jesus when he was arriving into Jerusalem.
The mass was special as some of the children participated in the gospel. Fr. Raymundo invited us all to participate in all the activities for the upcoming week and also to prepare ourselves to change those bad behaviors in our lives that are obstacles in becoming better people. After mass, we enjoyed an afternoon together at the basketball court, and we had dinner outside as well.
HOLY THURSDAY MASS
Holy Thursday mass is one of my favorites. I like to see the children and adults faces when the priest washes their feet. Today we had the presence of Fr. Ron which made everything more familiar.
Mass started at 6:00 pm in complete darkness just a few lights were on at the altar. Fr. Ron explained to us that the Holy Thursday mass was the last before Jesus’ resurrection and that it is like a holy day because it is when Jesus starts to live out his passions and then death.
When the gospel is finished, he invited his twelve apostles to the altar to wash their feet. After this NPH tradition, we were invited to have dinner as a big family on the basketball court under a sky filled with a stars and a bright full moon.
