Father Phil´s First Visit to our New Home
Few people put a better smile on the faces of our children than the Father does.
May 3, 2012 - Peru
Once again, it was a great pleasure for our small family at NPH Peru to welcome Father Phil Cleary, President of NPH International. It was his first journey to our new home Santa Rosa de Lima in San Vicente de Cañete, but it was the end of his twenty-day journey in which he visited seven NPH homes before returning to Mexico. Many individuals would be exhausted after such a long and enduring trip, but not Father Phil!
As usual, he knew every single name and recognized everyone within seconds. He also knew the names of our new children and immediately was able to make a connection with them. There is something very special about Father Phil. While it may be hard to explain, it is clearly visible. His presence puts an amazing smile on the faces of our children, which is something that comes naturally to him. Even though the children were in school during the day, they were able to spend quality time together in the afternoons and evenings.
Blessing of the "Canadian Friendship Bus"
Father Phil always has a smile on his face, and kind words for everyone. The highlight of the two day visit was the blessing of our new bus, which we were able to buy thanks to the unconditional support of our Canadian friends. For this, we want to say “Thank You!” The family came together, and surrounded the bus. Father Phil then blessed the bus from the inside out, and we baptized it the “Canadian Friendship Bus.“
Unfortunately, the goodbye dinner came sooner that we would have liked, and we had quite a special dish that night. Hot dogs! Our teenagers prepared over 250 hot dogs, which is something that some of our pequeños ate for the first time.
Thank you very much Father Phil for your love and prayers. We will be sure to continue to also pray for you. Feel free to come and visit us at any time here in Peru as we are always glad to have you!
