Position Description:
The creative therapists give specialized attention to children and adults with therapy needs in schools and in the homes in which they live. NPH accepts creative arts therapists, drama therapists, and other related qualified therapists, as we understand study plans and degrees vary in different countries. The creative therapists at NPH primarily work with children and adolescents with emotional and psychological problems, with the goal of designing and implementing therapeutic interventions that help these populations to achieve emotional and social wellbeing. The creative therapists at NPH participate in our multidisciplinary team, where doctors, psychologists, other therapists, teachers, social workers, and caregivers meet to discuss cases and make work plans and life plans for NPH beneficiaries.
Position Requirements:
- Qualified candidates must have a university degree in creative therapy or related area, and a valid therapy license.
- Qualified candidates must have professional experience in environments with children and people with disabilities.
- Successful volunteers at NPH have strong leadership skills, are resilient and flexible, and work well in teams.
Language Requirements:
Strong Spanish language skills are critical for success as a volunteer with NPH. NPH tests Spanish language skills of candidates invited for an interview. Applicants who do not have an adequate level of Spanish will be required to attend immersion school prior to beginning service with NPH at their own expense.
Age Requirements:
NPH accepts volunteers at least 21 years of age or older.
