Dear the World!

My name is Aroldo, I am 18-years-old and I live at Casa Santa Ana, NPH Dominican Republic. I donít write many letters, but I do enjoy the process because I can express myself in a different way. However, today, I am going to write about what I have been doing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite all the problems caused by the pandemic, I have remained on the positive side, since being angry and sad is useless. I and everyone at NPH Dominican Republic are aware of everything that is happening, but despite that I still have faith and hope that all this will happen with God on our side, but in the middle of all this I began to think about my family who are missing right now.

When I came to Casa Santa Ana in 2008, I remember it was for family matters. I was only 7-years-old and I was found by social services. They brought me to NPH Dominican Republic and I never thought this place would be so wonderful. As the years went by, I felt the support of my Godparents, who despite the distance made themselves felt. From that moment, I knew that having Godfather was so magical that, without a magic wand, he made magic in me, and brings a bit of that magic to help me be a better person. I feel a special bond with my Godparents; one of which has been with me for 5 years and another for 10.

As I said before, during this pandemic, I have tried to be positive and take the opportunity to do different activities. Among them is being the teacher of the clay workshop, reinforcing my arts in paintings and learning more about barbering. It will help me for the future, to build new skills and open doors. I doubt I would have the same opportunities outside of Casa Santa Ana. There are many children in this country that live in poverty, with few chances to build a future. I know how lucky I am because I was once one of those children.

I hope that all those who support me are in perfect health, and I wish my Godparents the best, and I thank them for everything. in this world and I thank him for everything.

Love,

Aroldo
